News: Magnetic is now a B Corp

It’s official: Magnetic is now a B Corp. We’re proud that we’re the biggest independent innovation company to attain B Corp status. We’re excited to be joining a community of 1,300+ like-minded UK businesses including Simplyhealth, Finisterre, Innocent Drinks and Simply Business, who are also dedicated to building a better future for people, planet and purpose.

Getting to the certification stage is tough and the process rigorous. We got here by demonstrating a commitment to design a better world and embrace diversity to bring responsible new products and services to market. And we think it’s worth it. The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of our business operations and covers five impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Our purpose is to design better futures. We do this by working with ambitious brands including Mars Wrigley, Bupa, Google, Innovate UK and Simply Business, who are reinventing business. They understand the importance of driving change and becoming a force for good. We aim to support purpose-driven businesses that strive to make a difference in the world.

Our co-founder and CFO Richard Poole said: “For us, B Corp is the economic alternative to a world dominated by shareholder-only decision making. And to be part of this community, in the innovation industry that should be leading the way in this space, is something very exciting indeed.”

Balancing people and profit is even more critical at a time when we’re facing tough social and economic challenges. With the relentless storm of challenges businesses are facing, it’s important to not just look at the now. The B Corp badge means that we meet the highest social and environmental standards not just right now, but also for the long haul.

Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Lou Cordwell OBE said: “Around 196,000 businesses globally have registered to use the B Corp impact tools. Together we’re contributing to a future where sustainability and inclusivity are not just an afterthought but a fundamental aspect of design and decision-making processes.

“Our focus is to use design as a powerful tool to work with our clients to make new responsible and sustainable products and services. We’re incredibly proud to be only one of 6,000 companies in the world that have been certified as meeting the high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability as prescribed by B Lab.”
